Voices From Another Room

I could hear them faintly

Voices from another room

Laughing and cooing together

The way lovers sometimes do

I turned up the radio so as not to pry

The voices seemed to get louder

I looked out the window at the rain

Noticing the empty pillow next to me

The Voices weren’t from another room

They were coming from my own mind

The room where I kept memories of him

The days of yesteryear when love was alive
