This Thing Called Motherhood

In the Motherhood

Engraved forever in my subconscious

The day I  first found out about you

A surreal moment of shock and disbelief

I was far too busy with life to mix it up

I was far too happy now not to mix it up

Surreality became reality and I knew you

This tiny extension of myself that needed me

Perhaps I needed you to complete a need in me

Now we come full circle and my daughter is swollen

You wear it well, this thing called Motherhood
